A truly stunning example of a classic American icon – this 1970 Ford Mustang 302 Convertible comes beautifully restored and finished in a show-stopping Metallic Electric Blue with Pearl White 302 Racing Stripes, blue interior accents, and a power-operated Surf Blue soft top with hood bag.
Built at the Dearborn plant on February 27th, 1970, this car is among the rarest of its kind – just 6,199 convertibleswere produced that year. It was imported into the UK in early 1973 and has since had only three owners, all of whom preserved it with great care.
This car has undergone extensive restoration and was part of a high-quality private collection. It features chrome spoked wheels, a deep chin spoiler, bonnet scoop, rear wing vents, and an optional chrome roll bar with four blue chrome spotlights, reminiscent of the Mustang driven by Pierce Brosnan in The Thomas Crown Affair remake. Though not shown in all photos, these spotlights are easily mountable for classic car exhibitions.
The engine was rebuilt by a noted British engine builder using period-correct performance parts (Holley, Cobra, etc.) and the engine bay was detailed to concours standards – with over £6,000 invested. The underside of the car is also in great shape, with excellent paint, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, protective over-mats, and a beautifully finished interior.
Mechanically, it drives and handles impressively well, and the performance exhaust system sounds truly exhilarating.
The car comes with:
Currently on UK plates and located in Marbella, Spain, it can be easily transported or registered locally on Spanish Historic Plates – contacts available for both options.
This is more than a car – it's the centerpiece of a collector's dream. Unfortunately, one must go to fund a new race car for the upcoming season.
